Sensory Substitution: the project aims to enhance human proprioception by addressing the underdeveloped sensory capacity of the back, expanding our ability to perceive the environment beyond our limited 180-degree field of vision.

Leveraging sensor technology, the project focuses on measuring the proximity of objects and giving feedback stimulation through a coin-type vibration motor. By utilizing vibration as feedback, the intensity scales based on the proximity of the object, providing users with a nuanced understanding of their surroundings.

We are used to perceiving the world around us in front of us. We can see it, touch it, hear it. But this is limited within our field of vision of 180 degree.
In the absence of the ability to see, feel and touch what is behind us, people have resorted to the concepts of the Sixth Sense and the Third Eye to make up for this deficiency.
We analyzed our body and noticed that least of all the sense of feeling surrounding is developed with back. So we decided to expand back sensitivity. Our project "Expand Bodies" seeks to make up for the "blindness" of our backs and the unreachable to sight.
Within Primary Research I covered topics:
— Self-Care Management
— Stress Assessment Methods
— Caregiver’s Stress Exposure
The research helped to pinpoint the main support needs of caregivers in Switzerland, such as emotional and medical assistance. We identified a gap between caregivers' needs and available support, advocating for tailored services that adapt to individual situations.

The first inspiration came to us from exploring proprioception. We realized that this feeling humans always cont as a "given". (the sense of self-movement and body position. It is sometimes described as the "sixth sense".)
Because of the fact that we got used to feel our surrounding with all available for us senses we never assessed possible life scenario without proprioception.
This led us to brainstorming on the question "how can we expand human body and sense of our surrounding"? The sense of self-movement and body position. It is sometimes described as the "sixth sense".
Also we were fascinated by the concept of artificial limb and sensing environment via extension of one's body.
